Recycled computer equipment redistributed by Reboot includes current Windows operating system software. In order to do this at low cost, Reboot participates in the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR) program which provides the license for that software. Microsoft mandates a charge to the qualified receipient of $5.00 per system, which Reboot remits entirely to Microsoft, see also Qualifications. This MAR fee must be paid in cash when the system is received. All peripherals accompanying a computer are free.

In a few situations, additional licensing fees may apply if other licensed software is installed.
